Wendy Gordon, DM, MPH, CPM, LM
Midwifery Department Chair
Dr. Wendy Gordon’s career path includes refinery engineering, corporate recruiting and human resources. She discovered her calling to midwifery in 2001 and graduated from Seattle Midwifery School in 2005. She began teaching at Seattle Midwifery School in 2007 and at Bastyr University in 2012. She became Chair of the Department of Midwifery in 2018. Dr. Gordon is a Certified Professional Midwife.
Dr. Gordon is active in the Midwives Association of Washington State and is also a member of two task forces for the American College of Nurse Midwives. Dr. Gordon served as one of two Certified Professional Midwives on a committee for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine to assess health outcomes by birth setting.

Funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), this program promotes diversity in the health professions while aiming to increase the number of graduates working in medically underserved and rural communities.
