Your rotation at the Bastyr clinic will begin within your first year during the Spring term of the program. You will get excellent practice in basic counseling and assessment skills as you assist clients with mental health issues, providing a great foundation for your future career.

Speaking of careers in mental health, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of mental health counselors is expected to grow by 22 percent by 2031, which is much faster than the average for all occupations. Insurance companies are increasingly providing reimbursement of counselors as a less costly alternative to psychiatrists and psychologists.
