The Naturopathic Medicine Doctorate at Bastyr University

The 3-Year Advantage:

Faster Time to Licensure

By utilizing a year round 11-week quarter system (8 weeks in the summer), you can complete your Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree in just 3 years. This accelerated track allows you to enter the workforce and begin your calling as a physician much earlier than traditional programs.

Reduced Financial & Debt Burden

We have strategically repackaged our curriculum from 300 to 270 credits, lowering total tuition. Beyond tuition savings, graduating early can help you save on living expenses and residency costs.

Integrated Board Prep & Faster Licensure

Success on the NPLEX I & II is built directly into your education. With integrated review courses and testing scheduled before graduation, you can secure your license and start seeing patients months ahead of your peers.

Increased Clinical Training

Efficiency does not mean compromise. We have increased our hands-on clinical requirements to 1,220 hours. You will gain more practical experience in less time, ensuring you are fully prepared for the rigors of private practice or integrative clinics.

Bastyr’s systems-based, integrative approach fosters critical clinical reasoning while emphasizing patient-centered care. Students benefit from extensive clinical rotations, community health opportunities, and a nationally recognized residency program. As graduates, they emerge as compassionate, highly skilled naturopathic physicians ready to serve as primary care providers, wellness entrepreneurs, researchers, educators, and leaders advancing natural medicine in communities around the world.

“The Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program at Bastyr has been the most challenging, enriching, and fulfilling experience of my academic career. In addition to the intellectual rigor of the didactic classes, you are challenged in both your ability to provide the best care for your patients and your capacity to become a beacon of change and hope for a better health care system at large.”
